Does this kind of photo look familiar? Does the pleasing scenery evoke feelings of yearning for travel as you stare at it longingly, wondering where it is and when you might be able to visit it? Have you realized that you can barely remember what it feels like to pack a suitcase? Yeah, same here.
After more than a year of enduring this global crisis, we are all most likely saturated with news about COVID-19. It seems like we can’t go one day without hearing something about the vaccines, the masks, or the virus itself. We’ve even got a couple of new mutations of the virus keeping our ears full. So, I decided that yet another post about the coronavirus would be welcome. I am writing this post as we enter our third full lockdown here in Potsdam.

To no one’s surprise, I will be spending most of the next few weeks much the same as I have spent the past few: holed up in my apartment. This means, among other things, that I have lots of time to work on personal projects, such as this blog. I have a lot of topics in mind for future posts, and this period of sheltering in place will allow me to work on them as inspiration comes, which I hope will be very helpful for my productivity here. But first, I feel that it is most pertinent for me to write a little about what we are experiencing at the moment.

The time has come to change the name of my blog! This is happening for several reasons:
- I never really liked “GermanLyon” very much to begin with, and
- I am returning to Germany this fall (!!!) and I feel that with this new chapter, a new title is appropriate, and
- possibly the biggest driver of all, I GOT MARRIED!! 😀
