Endlich zurück

I am sitting at my desk in my room in the Französisches Viertel (French Quarter) of Tübingen. I have functional Wi-Fi. I have no major excursions planned for the next week. I’m only a little bit sick, and I don’t have to pee. And it feels SO good to say all of that out loud (well, to type it, anyway…)

The past several weeks have been a blur of movement and energy, and much has transpired in my world. We finished our six week Preparatory Language Program in Horb-am-Neckar, celebrated accordingly, and moved thirty minutes North to Tübingen, where we will live for the next school year (unless we decide to transfer schools, but I’ll cover that some other time). We spent two days covering a few basics of life in Tübingen, and then I rushed off to Istanbul, Turkey, with some close friends for a few days of sightseeing and food tasting.

The day we returned was also the day that my dad and brother arrived from California for a week-long visit. We spent one day in Tübingen and one day in Stuttgart, and then we took a bus to Munich in Bayern (Bavaria). Not only did we attend Oktoberfest, but we also took a fantastic bike tour of the city’s highlights and a tour of some of the most famous castles in Germany.

I have only been home for about two hours (one of which was spent fighting with my router – I won), so I am still decompressing and getting my thoughts in order regarding my numerous adventures. I have lots and lots of photos to load, as well as a few videos, so it is going to take a little while to get this blog up to speed. Moving forward, I am going to write less recaps and more posts with specific topics, as even I get bored looking back on old posts of mine, but I will need to write a little bit about what I have been up to in order to provide background for certain things.

In the meantime, thank you for checking out my blog, and let me know if you have any questions or comments. Stay tuned for a barrage of photos!
